The President Invites Families of Injured Military Members to White House

President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Devastating Event

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have taken place in their memory.

White House Call

The president explained he’s proposed a White House visit for the loved ones of both members of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump informed the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Attendees gathered over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to aid policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that instructors desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” the principal, the principal of her previous school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, considerate and always willing to assist people.”

Funeral details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and temporarily stop issuing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor the governor said on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told the program that she planned to visit the family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with excellence, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had courage,” the governor informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
