Salah Offers Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the uproar from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a vital match after voicing frustrations and stating his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
The head coach has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Their results have remained strong in the period after the interview fallout. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
