Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

US actor Finn, who appeared in iconic television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.

Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
