Ariana Grande was in Singapore for the Asia-Pacific debut of Wicked: For Good

Devoted fans of the actress are calling for that a man who jumped a barricade and grabbed the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared video reveals the individual from Australia shoving aside photographers and lunging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a promenade accompanied by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being detained", though court documents revealed that he was due to attend court on the following morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

History of Incidents

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram profile features clips of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last December.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," stated an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Fans Show Disapproval Over the Star's Past Trauma

Many followers blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote one more response on Instagram.

Several attendees also questioned security officers at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while some requested online networks to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In clips circulating online, Grande seemed shocked when she was approached by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has not commented on the situation, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.

Numerous of attendees had gathered in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it started.

The film, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the sequel of a two-film version of the popular Broadway and West End production Wicked, which centers on the unlikely bond between two distinct witches.

The show itself is a adaptation of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a rosé sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and received ten Oscar nominations, securing several for excellent wardrobe and production design.
